THE LOVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT SHOULD MOTIVATE US TO PRAY. Galatians 5:16 (NIV84)16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. That we have a Father in Heaven SHOULD MOTIVATE Us TO PRAY. Hebrews 4:16 (NIV84)16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Genesis 50:20 (NIV84)20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Esther 4:14 (NIV84)14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. Recommitting to the will of God requires aligning our priorities (background) Acts 13:22 (NIV84)22 After removing Saul, he made David their king. Ephesians 1:1 (NIV84)1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: Romans 1:8–10 (NIV84)8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. 9 God, whom I serve with my whole heart in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you 10 in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 1 Corinthians 3:6–7 (NIV84)6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. Romans 15:20–21 (NIV84)20 It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. 21 Rather, as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.” A reminder of a Godly Ambition (20-21)

Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith. Philippians 1:9–11 (NIV84)9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Colossians 2:2–3 (NIV84)2 My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

A reminder to continue (14) Romans 15:14 (NIV84)14 I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another. In Goodness Colossians 1:3–6 (NIV84)3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints— 5 the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel 6 that has come to you. Isaiah 49:6 (NIV84)6 he says: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.” Psalm 22:27–31 (NIV84)27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, 28 for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations. 29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him— those who cannot keep themselves alive. 30 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. 31 They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn— for he has done it.
